Privacy Policy

The short version

There are no ads or advertising trackers here. I don’t sell your data or share it with advertisers.

The site stores activity you choose to create: sign-ins, comments, likes, poll votes, messages and mailing-list subscriptions.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional. You can read everything without an account. It only gives your comments and likes a name.

Google gives the site your name, profile photo and email address. No other account information is requested. Your browser stores the sign-in session. Signing out removes it.

What you leave here

Comments and replies are public. They are stored with your name, photo and the time you posted them. Likes store your name and photo, which may appear in the list of people who liked a piece.

Reports include the reported comment, its page and your email when signed in. Messages include what you wrote, your email and the page they came from. Testimonials include the details you enter and stay unpublished until I approve them.

Sharing only adds one to a counter. Nothing about you is stored.

Counts and clicks

The site counts opens for pages, writing and mini apps. It sends the name of what opened, without an account, personal identifier or fingerprint. I can see how many people read something, but not who.

Short links and rows on the links page record which link was tapped. They do not record who tapped it.

The mailing list stores your email address and the page where you subscribed. It is used only for occasional updates from me. You can unsubscribe from any email.

Visitor polls and browser settings

The Explore poll stores the labels and broad region you choose with a random browser identifier, separately from your account. Location is never detected. Only totals are public. You can tap a selected answer to remove it. Clearing browser data removes the local identifier, so that browser can no longer undo its old votes.

Your appearance settings, liked-item markers and the poll’s random identifier live in browser storage. Clearing browser data removes the local copies.

Where it lives

Supabase runs sign-in and stores comments, likes, poll votes, counts, link taps, messages and mailing-list addresses. See Supabase’s privacy policy.

Vercel hosts the site and processes standard server logs, including IP addresses, to deliver pages. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

Third-party services

Some pages load thumbnails from YouTube. The player loads after you press play; YouTube’s policies then apply. The archived Openly demos load Google Maps. Google’s policies apply while Google Maps or Google sign-in are in use.

Deleting your account and data

Open Account, then Privacy and data, then Delete account. This removes your name, photo and email.

Your comments and likes remain visible as “Deleted user” so existing conversations still make sense. Sign in again with the same email and choose Restore data to put your name back.

To remove the comments and likes too, email me. The same applies to mailing-list removal, though the unsubscribe link is faster.
